Being a romantic sort of lot, my Mum, sister and I will be spending the evening making sugar plums. It’s a lovely thing to see in your diary. Having done some research, we’ve realised that Sugar Plums are really best eaten on the day of making, or around that time. So we will be making crystalised plums also. All this is basically because it’s nearly Christmas (sort of) and we often hear the poem ‘The Night before Christmas’, which mentions Sugar Plums dancing in people’s heads while they sleep. There’s obviously also the Tchaikovsky Ballet mentioning Sugar Plums. And again, what’s not to like? Fruit- Good, Fruit dipped in sugar and sugar syrup- Good. Having just had a satisfactory trip to the dentists as well, I feel like I should reward my good work!
